Back to the roots: Africa - Western Black Rhino



New year, new sketchbook, new desire:
to draw there just African animals.

This is a first study of the Western Black Rhino, sadly declared extinct last November.

I started with a quick sketch...




then since I don´t have a lot of free time to draw and for professional deformation, I fixed a piece of tracing paper on it, and did the massing with pantone felt-tip pens.
After that, I decided to not ink, but to add some shading, textures and lines just with the pencil.
